Chief Executive Officer
E. Clarke Ross, DPA, CEO
Clarke Ross provides CHADD with its leadership and vision. He sets
forth the organization’s short- and long-term goals and
objectives, in concert with the board, while ensuring the integrity and
fulfillment of its mission and purpose. He has worked for over 30 years
in positions at five national mental health and disability
organizations, including deputy executive director for public policy,
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI); executive director,
American Managed Behavioral Healthcare Association (AMBHA); assistant
executive director for federal relations and then deputy executive
director, National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors
(NASMHPD); and director of governmental activities, United Cerebral
Palsy Associations (UCPA). He is the father of a teenage son with
special challenges. Clarke holds a doctorate in public
administration.
Community Services and Parent to Parent
Ruth Hughes, PhD, Chief Program Officer
for Community Services
Ruth Hughes oversees the groundbreaking Parent to Parent: Family
Training Program on AD/HD. For 17 years she was the CEO of the
International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (now
USPRA), an association representing providers of rehabilitation services
to adults and children with serious mental illnesses. Today her work
focuses on advocating for a system of care where every child and adult
with AD/HD has access to state-of-the-art information and services. The
mother of two children with AD/HD, Ruth holds a PhD in clinical
psychology.

Meetings and Event Planning
Marsha Bokman, CMP, Director of Meetings and Events
Marsha Bokman has been with CHADD since 1999. She is responsible
for coordinating and executing the overall management of the CHADD
Annual International Conference as well as many other CHADD meetings and
programs during the year. A Certified Meeting Planner, Bokman works
in tandem with her strong staff in the areas of meeting logistics,
registrations, publications, marketing, hotel and convention center
negotiation and selection, budgeting, speaker liaison, and continuing
education accreditation.
Suzanne Urie, Exhibit Manager
Suzanne Urie has been with CHADD since 2003. She is responsible for
coordinating and executing the management of exhibitors and advertisers
for the CHADD annual international conference.
Megan Feeley, Meetings and Events Assistant
National Resource Center on AD/HD (NRC)
Tim MacGeorge, MDiv, MSW, Director
Tim MacGeorge has been the director of the NRC since May 2006. The NRC
is a program of CHADD that is funded by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC). Prior to being named director, Tim had been the
NRC's deputy director since its inception in 2002. As director, Tim
serves as liaison between CHADD and the CDC, while overseeing the
program's $1 million budget and supervising a staff of professionals who
operate and staff the NRC, a lifeline to the millions with AD/HD. The
NRC includes the nation's only library dedicated exclusively to
literature and research on AD/HD. Prior to coming to CHADD, Tim was
director of information and referral at the National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI). Before that, he worked at AARP while pursuing graduate
studies in social work. Tim holds an AB in philosopy, an MDiv, and an
MSW in social work policy and administration.
Development
Russell L. Shipley, Jr., Chief Development
Officer
Russ is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and
oversight of many aspects of CHADD revenue generation programs. These
include major donors, direct mail and online donation marketing,
corporate support, affinity and vehicle donation programs, Combined
Federal Campaign and other workplace giving programs, publication sales,
and special events. Prior to joining CHADD, Russ held management
positions with several nonprofit professional and trade associations. He
holds a BS in journalism from the University of Maryland.
Jenifer Artis, Staff Accountant
Communications and Media Relations
Bryan Goodman, MA, Director
Bryan Goodman serves as executive editor of the organization's
Attention magazine, directs a national education campaign and
is responsible for all media coordination and dissemination of the
organization's key messages. Prior to becoming director of
communications, Bryan served as the lead staff member on the National
AD/HD Education Initiative. He has also worked in communications at
Voices for America's Children and as the press secretary for Rep. Vic
Snyder (D-Ark.). He holds a BA in political science and an MA in
journalism.
Susan Buningh, MRE, Managing Editor
Susan Buningh is managing editor of Attention magazine and
the CHADD website. Before coming to CHADD, she edited various
print publications for more than twenty-five
years, serving for fourteen years as senior editor of
Book World for the World & I. Susan holds an
AB in history from Vassar College and a master's in religious
education. A longtime Special Olympics volunteer and equestrian
coach, Susan is the mother of an adult daughter who
has intellectual disabilities.
